Claire mixes it with stars

cheif ligger Claire Wilkie managed to score tickets to Miami Vice premier, and then went to dinner with Sam L Jackson and co -

is it just me, or does mr jackon look a little scared :-)

lost my sim card

not sure if anyone has texted recently, but live lost my sim card (god knows how) - so i want be able to get it replaced for a few days now until we find a vodaphone shop - so until then im incognito - although Juz still has her phone, 0416393670

see ya

Juz the Whale watcher super hero strikes again

ive talked for a while about getting juz a Whale Watcher super hero outfit becuase she always managed to spot them, even when your not expecting too! and yesterday she spotted 2, and maybe 3 whales just off the coast of byron, and a lovely place called Lennox head ( see piccy above) - its a rare talent , and im gonna make a tee shirt with a big WW on it, so she can change into in pnoheboxes when there is a desperate need for whale watching

Dogs - looooooooads of border collies in Byron bay for some reason, its great, they are everywhere - people leave them in they're Uwts when they go shopping so we can stroke them all - lovely!

Surfing - we had our first bash surfing yesterday, ive bought a way too tight wetsuit (second hand) which is very warm, but i can hardly breathe with it on - i nearly passed out in the shop (top tip - never try on a wetsuit when hungover!)

anways, we where in the water, and juz got a small cut from the boogie board which started bleeding - not good when there is sharks in the ocean - so we did the decent thing and got out the water, but not before a few more wipeouts

so i think we are leaving byron tomorrow, its been a lot of fun but we are both itching to get moving again i think - Mel's brother has not left for LA and a new guy as moved in to the flat who seems like a cool guy, but socialing cost a lot, so we need to get moving and chill out somewhere where there is not too many distractions

ok then, thats all for now

Big brother

mmmmm, can kind of see it! a bit - maybe i'll dye my hair blond :-)

Byron Bay and Nimbin

so after a bit of a social few days we landed in Bryon where mel hayes brother lives - we've never met him before but he's been the pure hostess with the mostess - giving us a room for the week, taking us to all the bars and restaruants, introducing us to loads of his friends (including michael hutchences brother, Rett) and even us taking us on a full picnic day to the Protester Falls, and then on to nimbin - which is bloody hilarious - its an old hippy hangout (so justine obviously loved it!!) and everyone seems to be off the heads on something or other - its so funny - cant believe it exisits in Oz, as its quite conservative here really!

Ooooh, and we have bought a surfboard too - cant wait to have a go with that

so all in all, a hectic two weeks really, which started with becky's birthday, and we can finally get a chance to relax now - hopefully!

see yer later

Byron Bay

well we have finally made it to Byron after a hectic week - we hooked up with Pete and Jane Capp in brisbane - and after a rather large session we ended up staying at there place which was nice

Then ther next day we managed to arrange a night out with miss Sarah Church which was lovely - church brough along some champers which we quaffed under the lovely brisbane skyline, then we had a lovely meal - then it was back to 'our place' which actually where we parked the car for a few riverside beers - and then finally back to churches for a quick beer and then we all crashed out - all in all a wonderful couple of nights

it was nice to the saturday morning chill out on the sofa thang ! do miss the simple pleasures

we started off woth a wee treat for Becky which seh didn't know about - an upside down, twisty flight in a tiger moth! it was awesome to watch, and looked well scary

then we headed of to north stradbroke island for 3 days, which as you can see is lovely - we had aspot right by the beach too - perfect

ok, i'll load this page now and try and do some more a little later, as my timer is about to go i think

on the move

went whale watching today out of hervey bay, and we swa loads of them - and even some close up breeching, as shown in this photo here - they also came right up to the boat, and where just a few meters away - and as expected, juz nearly hyper ventilated at the sight of the huge creatures - she is still grinning now

this is a from a place called 'the town of 1770', and agnes water where we camped the other night, and very nice indeed it was too

and apparently, Andy van der myde (from Everton) lives in Bebington, where mum and dad still live - crazy - wonder if they have seen them

Aplogies... and a quick note about cheif ligger

1 ) for not mailing much recently, this is the first decent computer ive been on for ages, and ive just spent an hour updating the blog, which leads me to my next apology .......

2) for all the waffle below - it just comes naturally im afraid, i cant quite babble in Bobs league yet, but im getting there (sos bob, luv ya really mate :-)

so then, two more piccies above, the lovely paltypus which we saw in Eungella national park, which is lovely by the way

and whiotehaven beach which we saw in the whit sundays and is really quite surreally beautiful!

and claire, cant believe now you are sensible, have a house, are at university - that you are still the cheif ligger, overtaking jarvis cocker, and robbie williams (in his ligger stage)

sounds awesome though,

and here is the groovy gang, in full spleandour

obviously the camera cant quite capture our shakes and sweats from to much partying, but the smiles say it all, i think everyone loved it, and hopefully we made a few freinds along the way

we are sailing part 2

and this is the boat - the madison! it had 2 crew, and 12 passengers, and i must say we where blessed with a bloody lovely group of people (all piss heads though, in a nice way :-)

we took 2 crates of beer, and 4 litres of wine - and went home empty handed! it was one of the best times ever, we spen the days cruising around the gorge islands, snorkelling on the reef, chillin with beers and a book on the ocean waves - just pure class, making memories or what!

we had lovely sunsets each night too, it was glorious

we are sailing! Part 1

ok , we decided to take the advice of the great rod stewart and go on one of the sailing trips around the whitsunday islands - we decided to break the bank, get a nice boat, and go for the fulkl 3 day , 3 night option -

we mananged to get a 460 dollar trip for 330 which was a result, they go and stand by rates, so we booked it 3 hours before, then ran around like headless chickens trying to pack and buy enough booze for what would obviously turn into a lazy cruizy boozy scwoozy

(ok, the pics are taking a while so i will do this in stages, and post now)

as this pic has loaded i'll explan it, its a Maori Wrasse and is my new fave fish (sorry cactusfish!) they are up to 2 meters long, although this was just over a meter and they are the funniest looking things - you can hug them if you want, but that seems a touch silly - although would have loved too!

how cool are they!

kanga's

claire and mel will pleased to know we cant bring ourselves to eat anything as cute as this, even though they are sold all over the place!

we actually go to see one the other day, with a little baby joey just like this one - it was wild but quite tame as managed to feed it some bread!

so lovely!

Burger Off

why im blogging this i dont know, but we decided to spice up the kitchen and have a burger off (this pic is irrelevant BTW)

i went for thai style lemongrass and coconut lamb burgers, with extra chilli, and a feta topping, with coleslaw

Juz created a delightful (almost veggie) burger with spring onions, coriander, and some bacon bits

i declared Juz the winner, very tasty indeed!

random things for makeshift diary

SAILING
we managed to go on a free sailing trip in townsville, we just rocked up to the sailing club - put our names down, and a volunteer sailor takes you out on an informal race to magnetic island

it was great, however the 3 beers beforehand meant we spent the whole race cross legged, unable to speak! cest la vie - was cool though

BLOW OUT
did i mention this?? we had to change the trye after our rear one popped, found out the spair was flat so we had to roll it (luckily) 400 meters to the garage! we do learn thew hard way!

SHOCKING BEHAVIOUR
we are having shocks fitted today to wee Brucie the station wagon! for some reason someone had lowered it to make it look cool too ??? you got to wonder about some people heh

Rolf

well, we didn't meet him, but we met a great look a like - shame we didn't have a camera, but he looked just like this cheery chap!
